Evaluation of design skills workshop practices and views of teachers and students on the development of workshops

In this study, the views of teachers and students on the evaluation and development of Design Skills Workshops established in primary, secondary and high schools in line with the 2023 Education Vision published by the Ministry of National Education in October 2018 were investigated. It is thought that the evaluation of the current situation of the workshops that have been established since 2019 and the access to information on their contribution to efficiency in education will contribute to the efficiency and continuity of these workshops. For this purpose, data were collected from the teachers working in the Design Skills Workshops in Düzce in the 2021-2022 academic year by using the interview technique and from the students involved in the education-teaching process in these workshops by using the attitude scale. In the study, in which qualitative and quantitative research methods were used together, semi-structured interview technique and the "Student Attitude Scale towards Design Skills Workshop Practices" consisting of 32 5-point Likert type questions were used. In line with the data obtained from this study, it is aimed to contribute to the development of the workshops by compiling information about the 3-year process. As a result of the study, it was found that students liked Design Skills Workshop Practices and wanted them to be continued, and teachers thought that these practices contributed positively to educational activities, but technical and educational support was needed for teachers and workshops.
