Abstract (EN)

Occupational exposures to respirable crystalline silica are associated with the development of silicosis, lung cancer, tuberculosis and airways diseases. Recent epidemiologic studies demonstrate that workers have a significant risk of developing chronic silicosis when they are exposed to respirable crystalline silica over a working lifetime at the current permissible exposure limit (PEL). The aim of this study is to collect samples from some mining companies near this area and make physical and chemical dust measurements to determine the accuracy for pneumoconiosis.
