Research on Tatarstan?s consumers? preferences in purchasing of textile products and defying their inclination towards Turkish textile

Textile sector and especially export of the textile goods in Turkey has been significantly increasing since middle of the 90?s. In 2001 crisis textile sector has been badly harmed, as it has been expected, but it recovered itself quickly and could catch increasing trend in development. However, Textile sector and clothes sector is continuing to grow despite to crises.Production volume of textile goods in Russia is not enough for inside market and so the Russian textile import is very attractive for Turkish firms. In this context, Turkish firms should make an effort to know Russian and Tatarstan markets, which is the part of Russia, and should apply appropriate strategies to become successful in that markets. This work is done to find out Tatarstan?s consumers? preferences in purchasing of textile products and defying their inclination towards Turkish textile.This work consists of four main parts. In the first part information about consumer behavior, that forms the theoretical part of the work, is given. In the second part detailed information of the Turkish textile sector is described. In the third part general information about Russia and Tatarstan is given. In the fourth part evaluation of the survey results and analysis of the gained information is done to find out Tatarstan?s consumers? preferences in purchasing of textile products and defying their inclination towards Turkish textile.
