Abstract (EN)

As in the rest of the world, in our country, many plants have been used for the purpose of preventing and treating health problems and to lead a higher quality life. For this reason, biological and chemical analyzes of the plants used for medical purposes have accelerated. In this study, antioxidant, antimicrobial, aromatic substance analysis, total phenolic compound composition and heavy metal analysis of flowers and leaves of Hypericum scabroides (HS), Verbascum diversifolium (VD) and Alcea calvertii (AC) species were investigated. In this study, to determine the antioxidant activity of plants, metal chelating activity, free radical (DPPH•) scavenging activity, reducing power analysis such as spectrophotometric methods were used. The antimicrobial activities were determined by microdilution broth method. Aromatic matter analysis was determined by GC-MS device and heavy metal analysis by ICP-OES device. According to the results of these plants, it has been determined that the plants have good antioxidant capacity due to their high total phenolic compounds. The antimicrobial activity results of plant extracts showed good activity in preventing the development of microorganisms against different organisms. The heavy metal contents of plants suggest that it can be a bioaccumulator. The results of the analysis of plants clearly show that they can have the potential to be used as an important resource in both food and non-food industries. Key Words: Hypericum scabroides, Verbascum diversifolium, Alcea calvertii, Antioxidant, Antimicrobial, Heavy metal, Essential oil.
