Abstract (EN)

In this study between Tekman-Pasinler, the oldest unit Triasic Karataştepe Metamorphics. Triassic-Cenomanian Bozyokuştepe Complex overlies this unit conformably. Campanian Üzümpınar Formation take part above Bozyokuştepe Complex. The ophiolite nappes, major subject of this study, called as Şahvelet Ophiolites. Serpantinite and harzburgite, bearing layered gabbros and isolated diabase dykes cut off the cumulates are being formed of this unit, It was thought that the pillow lavas and the basalts showing flow texture, are belong to the volcanites of ophiolites. The relationship between these rock types, belong to the ophiolites, are tectonic. Only isolated diabase dykes cut off the units take part at the bottom. Because of this there isn?t any regular ophiolotic series, it is like an ophioilitic complex. The older aged units are covered with Maetriction-Pliocen aged rocks with discorformity. It was found that the rocks of Şahvelet Ophiolite derived from Island arc-tholeitic (IAT) magma from land observations and geochemical analyses. These rocks was formed as follows; during Upper Cretaceous a South to North subduction commenced, Neotethis Ocean closed and the new occenic crust products was formed on this oceanic crust.
