New technology-focused lifestyles: An analysis on the interior design approaches of professional interior architects

In the 21st century, rapidly changing social relations and habits with the effect of technological developments are very effective on the interior structure. In the historical process, in every revolution and every important leap, daily life and society, and space have changed simultaneously depending on human relations. These changes were not sequential, but intertwined and influenced by each other at all times. Every change has brought an innovation, every innovation has created another innovation. These chains are actually development itself and are interdisciplinary. Considering the historical events and their effects, it is seen that the changes affect each area to different extents. Within these relationships, which are also presented in the scope of the thesis, identifying the paradigms that are effective in the transformation of space in the 21st century, presenting these paradigms, and the coming and future of the interior space criteria in the 21st century are discussed. Based on all these transformed space understandings and new definitions and concepts attributed to space, in line with the approaches brought by technological developments on space understanding, in the fourth section, a survey study via internet; Afterwards, with semi-structured face-to-face interviews with interior architects, it was aimed to reveal the current situation of interior architecture in Turkey and to determine future predictions. How interior architects define technology-oriented space, what methods and ideas they use about the future, and what they predict about the interior space of the future are examined in the study.
