Microtoponyms of Telafer and language analysis

The thesis "Microtoponyms of Telafer and Language Analysis" is a microtopology study which scopes of 373 places names (microtoponies) was compiled from the villages of Telafer County. The introduction to the thesis consists of a section that briefly discusses the subject of the thesis, its purpose, its limit, its methods, and the history of Talafar (position, importance, ethnic structure). In the first chapter of the study, It is classified the places in terms of their species; such as oykonims (Populated areas), astronomical (city name), oronims (mountain name), horonims (hand name), dromonims (road name), agronims (bond name), hydronims (water name), helonims (swamp name), urbonims (urban name) and ekklezionims (grandfather names). In the second chapter of study, the places names in the thesis are analyzed in terms of the meanings of the names, given reasons and the traditions of giving place in the lexical-semantic classification are revealed. In the third chapter of the study, the places names in the thesis are analyzed from the phonetic and morphological directions. Finally, a dictionary was prepared based on the meanings of the geographical terms in the theses. In conclusion general assessment was made in the light of the obtained information and findings.
