Investigation of cultural degeneration television series: Fırat University students on a field survey

As is known in every household today, television is one of the most common means of transmission of mass. The number of private television channels has increased with advancing technology and diversified televised programs. Television programs that appeal to everyone from seven to seventy today, one of the sequences of the television. Feature increases the curiosity of the audience with a gripping television series and more with each passing day followed with interest. Entering into life, television series and characters, the environments that become part of everyday conversation, even if almost determines the agenda has been.This much loved and followed with interest the many effects on society of the arrays seen. Range of fashion clothing characters, movements of the model, attitudes and patterns of behavior has become almost. I wonder how much the cultural structure, but with this series, does our culture improve, or to be degenerating, they are also being discussed. Because the young people, the recent forms of speech, state actions and behavior, self-image began to offer a contradiction to culture. On this cultural degeneration seen in young people, the purpose of this study also formed to investigate the effect of television series.Purpose, a questionnaire prepared in 2011-2012 academic year studying at the University of the Euphrates, and accepted 675 students applied to the survey application. Survey data were analyzed using computerized statistical program SPSS 17.0.Of the research, television series culturally, the more the society to the destruction of cultural values caused an adverse effect on the habits of recreation and moral / ethical values identified an adverse effect on the point of view.
