Representation of popular culture media products in television programs; example of; "Çok Güzel Hareketler Bunlar 2"

The communication phenomenon, which facilitates the understanding of individuals in the ordinary course of life, also carries and transfers the cultural traces of the societies in which it exists. Culture, which shapes people's communication styles from the way of thinking to the behaviors exhibited, has a structure that renews itself according to the period it is in. Today, mass media both provide the transfer of culture to the society and ensure its reproduction. Television, which has not lost its influence since the first day it was used among the mass media, has an important effect on the transfer of the cultural images of the modern world. Popular culture takes place in the flow of daily life through television, which is one of the most important sources of information today, and shapes events by influencing the formation of individuals and social conditions. Popular culture, which is a part of daily life, is included in the programs, series, advertisements and competitions that make up the broadcast flow of television channels and over time, it is seen that the contents and characters have become a product of popular culture by finding a response in the audience. From this point of view, it has been examined how the media products that have become a part of this culture in the sketches in the program "Çok Güzel Hareketler Bunlar 2", which were chosen as a sample, are processed in another media content and from which direction they are criticized. Qualitative content analysis was chosen as the method of the study. Thus, the criticisms brought in terms of character representations, content, technique, plot and presentation to the audience in this program in which media products are a part of popular culture are discussed.
