Dynamiz analysis of base-isolated buildings

In this thesis, seismic isolation systems against the effects of the earthquake and which is increasingly used in recent years in Turkey as well as abroad, the seismic structure isolators, and the isolators of use and design principles are described.The history of seismic isolators, first application in the World and in Turkey is mentioned. Seismic isolation structure methods to obtain the characteristic parameters, theoretical principles and American Standard Building Regulations relevant sections are described.In the last section, the high damping rubber isolator for 8-storey building has been designed and controls in accordance with the relevant regulations are made. Isolators designed in two different types according to the locations of isolators and the load the carries in it. The parameters, obtained from the design were subjected to a three-dimensional time history dynamic analysis in SAP2000 computer program.Dynamic analysis of the values obtained as a result of analysis of the same structure as determined by conventional nodes displacement, acceleration values and elements of axial force, shear force and moment values in the tables are compared and emphasized the importance of seismic isolation structure.
