Abstract (EN)
The subject of this thesis is the soil improvement study for a school building land constructed in Iskenderun, Hatay. This study was carried out in order to determine the general engineering properties of the ground on which the school will be built on and to determine possible soil problems and to analyze these problems. For this purpose, the disturbed and undisturbed samples were taken from the foundation soil of the study area and the samples were subjected to the necessary soil mechanics tests and according to the results obtained, the characteristics of the foundation soil of the school building which was planned to be constructed in the study area were revealed. The foundation soil properties of the school building in the study area were evaluated in terms of the improvement methods of problematic soils and it was decided that the ground improvement would be sufficient with the jet grout method, which is the type of improvement of the foundation soils by injection technique.
