Abstract (EN)

Of the temettuat registers related to Adapazari Settlement in the 19th century, there are very few studies that have been done before, and independently, temettuat registers of the town of Sapanca bring to light for the first time. The study, by addressing the social and economic structure of 19th century Sapanca, which is now a district of the province of Sakarya, will be an important case study in terms of illuminating the history of Adapazari.The purpose of this study, according to temettuat registers of the year of 1844, is to reveal the socio - economic structure of Sapanca Burgh where the trade economy with agriculture itself feels intensely.In this study, it is mainly used temettuat registers in the Prime Ministry Ottoman Archives. In addition, due to comparison of temettuat registers and differences arising during the review of these records, to make am more reasonable interpretation; it is used many MA thesis with regard to temettuat registers.In the first part of thesis which consists of three chapters, it is handled the social structure Sapanca Burgh in the context of the Ottoman Empire Population, residential status of population, social group relations consist of main theme this chapter.In the second part it is examined the economic structure. Economic activities in the town of Sapanca in the framework of the Ottoman economic structure are studied in this chapter.The third chapter is devoted the transcription of temettuat registers belong to the town of Sapanca Burgh faithfully the original texts.
