Social and economic situation of Geldiklan Township according to Temettüat Registers

In this study, the social and economic situation of the Geldiklan Township of Amasya Sanjak of the Sivas province of Ottoman State in the 19th century was examined in various aspects under the light of temettüat registers. The purpose of the study is to reveal the social and economic dynamics of the Geldiklan Township in the middle 19th century in the light of the temettüat registers. The study includes 12 villages belonging to Geldiklan Township in 1845. Detailed and quantitative information is tried to be provided concerning the basic areas of economic and social life such a population, structure of production, attributes of enterprises, sources of income, agricultural productivity and taxes of the considered region.
