In this thesis study, I will compare the navies of the Ottoman Empire and Holy Alliance in the 16th century and also test the Sea Power Theory of Alfred Thayer Mahan. For the sake of such test, I will review the sea power struggles of the Ottoman Empire and Holy Alliance in the 16th century on the basis of the Battles of Preveza and Leponto to help us figure out this subject and test the theory of Mahan. In this way, I will inspect the theory with a historical perspective and thus, we will see if the points handled by Mahan are satisfactory or not in terms of the Sea Power.
