Chemicals used in industrial, agricultural activities and household products lead to environmental pollution increasingly. These chemicals contain substances that may be harmful even at extremely low concentrations. These ingredients pollute water, air and soil at the global level. Especially in recent years, pollution of water resources, the atmosphere and environment in which we live caused by domestic and industrial wastes has become one of the most serious problems. Using renewable energy sources like the sun light instead of chemical treatment and chemical disinfection systems in the environmental pollution removal has a great importance for developing eco-friendly systems. Removal of pollution in the presence of a photocatalyzer can be given as an example of environmentally friendly applications. Pollution removal in the presence of photocatalyzer can be given as an example of environmentally friendly practices.In this study; production of Vanadium (V), Erbium (Er), Cerium (Ce) doped/undoped TiO2 thin films coated via sol-gel technique on glass substrates in industrial scale and by using these substrates photocatalytic degradation of cyanide in waste water is aimed. Structural, microstructural and electrical properties of the thin films were examined and thin films coated on glass substrates were used as the photocatalyzer in the photocatalytic degradation of cyanide in waste waters under UV/sunlight source. As a result 85-90 % efficiency was obtained in degradation of cyanide in waste water by using modified TiO2 films.
