A study on memorates compiled in Tokat and central villages

Tokat is one of the cities that has hosted many different cultures throughout its history and thus has created a rich blend of culture. Types of oral expression also have an important place in this cultural richness. In our study, memoratas defined as narratives that people personally experience, think of these experiences as unforgettable and remarkable, and design how they experience them were considered, memoratas in Tokat center and villages connected to the center were compiled by field research method and examined in the light of scientific methods. As a result of the literature review, it was found that no scientific studies have been conducted on memorats in Tokat before, but the fact that Tokat has a rich memorat asset was instrumental in the emergence of this study. Due to the place and importance of memoranda in terms of socio-cultural life and beliefs, this study aims to contribute to Turkish culture and to compile and record oral memory and transmit it to future generations. In our study, 114 sources were seen with people and 219 memorat narratives were compiled. Directed and non-directed interview/interview and observation methods were used during the interviews. Our study consists of 5 main titles: Introduction, Memorat as a Concept, Review, Text and Conclusion. Based on the narratives compiled, it has been determined that memoratas carry culture by ensuring that the practices made in the past reach the present and also teach people lessons in narratives based on religious beliefs. The collected narratives were classified by taking into account the classification made by Özkul Çobanoğlu. Narratives First of all, after examining the narrator, listener and performance environments, it was tried to reveal the shape characteristics of extraordinary beings. It has been evaluated that the data obtained in the study will bring richness to the field of Turkish culture and folklore based on the Tokat specificity.
