Examination of TOKİ housing on the projects implemented within the framework of architectural project competitions case of the Akgedik neighborhood of Manisa

TOKİ maintains its effectiveness in the formation of the physical environment and the production of new housing stock by creating new living spaces with many housing and residential environment constructions in the long run from past to present. It is observed that the majority of these living environments, which are mainly located in areas far from the city centers, are produced with a purely physical space-oriented understanding, together with the problem of density and scale, and the approach that cannot take care of vital-social relations becomes evident as the main problem of these productions. On the other hand, it is known that there are examples in the recent past where TOKİ has achieved projects through the competition method by considering both physical and vital needs with new approach methods and put the suggestions obtained in this way into practice. In this context, it is seen that the competitions preferred by TOKİ and Emlak Konut partnership as a production method are shaped under the main title of "Neighborhood". Thanks to the texture and the whole of interactions created by the coming together of people and space, each neighborhood can have a unique structure and the human relations that exist within this texture form the basis of the phenomenon of neighborhood. Based on the existence of this idea, it is seen that a new approach to mass housing production through competition is aimed by evaluating and solving different needs regarding human-space relations in many different regions of Turkey. Today, this mechanism is discussed through its production method and models; In this sense, the subject of this study is to examine and reveal how the ideas of the projects obtained by the competition method are carried into the implementation process. Within the scope of the research, a survey was conducted on 100 randomly selected people residing in Manisa Akgedik TOKİ residences, and the results were evaluated by remote connection with the author architect. In addition, the results obtained were evaluated by making a remote connection with the architect.
