Total productive maintenance and an application

In this thesis, Total Productive Maintenance and its applications are investigated.In the first section, maintenance is defined, requirement for maintenance in the plant is also declared and types of maintenance have been mentioned. History of Total Productive Maintenance and the progress to TPM is mentioned in the second section. The main objectives of TPM and advantages that TPM brings to the companies, goal of TPM and examples of companies that successfully implemented TPM, are also mentioned in this section.Having a general view of maintenance and total productive maintenance, the implementation steps in a company is studied in this section. Examples of TPM applications for different companies and recommended application steps are also examined in this section. TPM investment costs and Return of Investment (ROI) ratio are investigated by samples.In order to implement Total Productive Maintenance to the preferred company, in the fourth section developed projects are explained. These programs are developed for the technical people who are responsible for maintenance of the equipment of the company. The goal of these programs is systematic ordering of processes in parallel to Total Quality Management.
