Traditions concerning public worship (takhreej and evaluation)

The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the hadiths which inform about the public worship in respect of sanad and text, using Kütüb-ü Tis?a as main source of the field.In the introduction the main meaning of worship in the Islam is given, then the field of usage of community (cemaat) term in Kur?an and Sunnah is tried to define with synonimous terms. In addition the rich content of the term cemaat which gained during the historical process is pointed out.In the first chapter the reports (rivayetler) of Friday and Bairam (Festi-val) prays which have to be practised with community, besides, of the begin-ning of Ramadan, the declaration of the Bairam and standing at Arafat (vaqfa) are analysed.In the second chapter the reports of daily prays, küsüf (solar eclipse) pray, praying zuhr and asr with community by unifying at the time of zuhr at Arafat and istiska (ask for the rain) pray are analysed.In each two chapters, first of all the reports concerning the topic are col-lected from Kütüb-ü Tis?a with their complete versions and those which have similar meaning are gathered under the same title. When we were evaluating sanads (chains of narrators), we tried to get original sources, but when we were evaluating texts we behaved more independently and considered re-cent approachs as well.This thesis results in following conclusions: Today?s life of public wor-ship is in accordance on Friday pray, Bairam pray, standing at Arafat and praying zuhr and asr at Arafat with Sunnah, but on the beginning of Rama-dan, the declaration of Bairam and practising the daily prays there are impor-tant discordances with the aim of unity emphasized in the reports. The küsüf and istiska prays which were practising with community (cemaat) during the lifetime of the Prophet Mohammad are almost forgotten.
