The comparative analysis of the Russian and Turkish novel in the context of social realism

The aim of this study is to reflect the impact of the Socialist Realism movement that emerged in Russia, on Turkish literature based on the analysis of the selected Turkis novels, and identify the link between literature and its effects on society. The study consists of two chapters, in addition to the introduction and conclusion parts.The first chapter examines the Social Realism which emerges as a result of the socialist revolution, its effects on overall arts, including the preconditions which led to it, as well as its period of development which dates from 1934. Furthermore, the first chapter researches the impact of the above-mentioned literary movement from the comparative Marxist perspective. Apart from the Marxist method, the chapter researches other methods of comparative literature. The second chapter consists of the analysis of the Russian and Turkish literary works of 1950s from the Socialist Realist perspective. Differences and common points were covered and analyzed in the context of the social, political, and economic agenda of that period.
