The concept of gender states that sex is in a socail relation network. While the concept of sex comments the object as it has a constant self except the cultural context of history, the concept of gender underlines the differentating effect of the historical and sociocultural context. The patriarchal system which is the basis of the construction of gender, and built over a masculine discourse, refers to a social system which is inspected of not only woman's role in a society but also her labour, sexuality, body and fertility. Woman artists who try to bring feminine sensitiveness into the forefront and approach the femininity as an erectable process being against of malestream view of patriarchal system with the effects of women's movements since 1970s. And the rise of Feminist Art is directly proportionate to the intense expressions of those woman artists who determine the problem of women stuck in the patriarchal system. The description of gender in art coincide with a term between 1970 and 1980. The queries to concept of gender in the practice of art are carried out by woman artists and focused on the production of woman artists. Hence, the artists who try to reflect and interrogate the meaning of existing in a society which is divided as masculine and feminine, and apprehend the gender is different from the biological sex, are primarily woman artists. These artists are trying to build their own identities while carrying on their expressions, which are against of the masculine setup gender, to the practice of art, but not with the general acceptance of comprehension about sex. Private area which gender inequality exists and as an instance of this family and marriage concepts are the areas where women are suffered under men and encounter with death.
