Abstract (EN)
Language plays an important role in determining individuals' identities and shaping social relations. Sociolinguistics, which is an important research field aimed at understanding the effects of language on gender roles, cultural differences and communication processes, is one of the disciplines that examines the communication of individuals in society, cultural differences and the effects of language. The scope of sociolinguistics, which tries to understand how social relations and social norms are shaped through language, is quite broad. While sociolinguistics deals with the social dimension of language, it also examines the connection between men's and women's languages. Language is an important element of culture and while it reflects the realities of society, it also ensures the re-formation and continuation of culture. When the reflections of women's secondary position on language, especially in patriarchal societies, are examined, the effect of language in creating gender roles becomes clear. The concept of gender is a complex issue that can be addressed from biological, social and individual perspectives. It has been debated for a long time whether the reason for gender-based language differences is linguistic, social hierarchy or cultural. Language and gender research generally focuses on two main questions: First, do men and women speak to different extents? Secondly, is the language that defines men and women different in social life? Slang is generally considered a rude, impolite and undesirable form of speech. It is thought that such expressions are mostly used in emotional situations or when anger cannot be controlled. However, it should not be forgotten that the use of slang actually creates a much more complex and deep conceptual area. Examining the use of slang in terms of linguistics gives us important clues about the evolution and change of language. Despite the prevalence of the use of slang words and expressions, especially among women, this issue is not given much thought. Compiling and researching slang words and expressions used by women is of great importance in terms of linguistics and folklore. It is thought that this study will both enable us to learn more about women's language and communication styles and help us understand the effects of slang use on social dynamics. It is thought that women's use of slang will help us understand how language interacts with gender roles and norms.
