Abstract (EN)

The land works that constitute the infrastructure of highway projects are a department that acts as a superstructure carrier. This department which represents blue elevation is located between ground elevation, which are natural elevation of the material, and grade elevation, which are asphalt elevation. In this section, the most suitable route is determined according to the land structure, then the fill or cut sections of the structure are determined. After filling and cutting cross sections are determined, balancing is needed on fill and cut quantities. There are cases where the cutting section of the path does not meet the filling section or the material in the cutting section is too much for the filling section. If fill excess takes place, a borrow pit is needed. A borrow pit that provides required material is determined in the most appropriate distance to the work area. If cut excess occurs, a storage space is needed, so a storage area close to the work area should be determined. However, an excavation requires these excavations to be transported to the storage and the amount needed to be transported to the borrow pit. Thus, as an excavation and transportation costs will be generated, these costs will have an important place in the project cost. These costs constitute the materials to be used, equipment, maintenance and the production costs that create labor costs. Productive costs are of great importance for project cost in terms of efficiency. These requirements form together a cost factor, which has a significant impact on the cost of the project. In this study; the most suitable location of the borrow pit was determined by determining the filling and cutting sections on the plan of an old connection road which was built previously. Then, longitudinal transport, storage and borrowing costs, and productive costs were examined. These costs are calculated according to the unit prices of Environment and Urban Ministry of 2017 and a basic economic limit is set for working.
