Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted as a randomized controlled experimental study to evaluate the effect of listening to the newborn's mother's heartbeat on pain, stress and various physiological parameters that may occur in the newborn during heel blood collection. The study datawere collected from 50 newborns those 0-7 days old, from which blood will be drawn from the heel in a total of 25 interventions and 25 controls, between 04.03.2020 and 27.04.2021 in a university hospital. The Mother-Baby Identification Form and the ALPS-Neo Neonatal Pain and Stress Rating Scale were used to collect the data. In the statistical analyzes performed according to repeated measurements, it was determined that there was a significant difference in pain, stress and related physiological parameters between the intervention group in which the routine heel blood collection procedure was applied and the mother's heartbeat was listened to and the control group. It has been concluded that listening to the heartbeat of the newborn's mother is beneficial and effective in reducing the pain and stress that may occur in the newborn during the heel blood collection process. As a result of this study, it is recommended to listen to the mother's heartbeat while the heel blood collection procedure is applied to the newborn.
