The importance of geriatrics and gerontology is growing in recent decades in medicine. Hope management is a newly adopted concept and application by health professionals. Each medical act and every medical field are subjects of medical ethics. In this regard, it is possible to talk about geriatrics-gerontology ethics and hope management ethics as subcategories of medical ethics.The intersection of ethical dimensions of geriatrics-gerontology and hop management in medicine is take place in the focus of this thesis. Its aim is to analyze processes of managing hopes of elderly patients in different situations and to determine best medical approaches and potential problems in these contexts.The adopted way to handle the theme has a three-step construction from general to particular. Firstly basic knowledge of geriatrics-gerontology as conjoint fields of medicine and hope management in medicine as a medical application is presented. Secondly the ethical dimensions of each are discussed separately. Thirdly ethical issues in the coexistence of these two applied ethics are discussed theoretically and also by using a series of case story.
