Post-Traumatic Stress symptoms and the relationship of Post-Traumatic Growth with religious coping

The aim of the study was to examine the relationship between post-traumatic stress symptoms and post-traumatic growth and religious coping. The study consists of two main parts: theoretical and empirical. The sample of the study consists of 650 individuals who have been exposed to one or more traumatic experiences living in Erzincan and Ordu provinces. Personal Information Form, Post-Traumatic Stress Symptoms Scale, Post-Traumatic Growth Scale, Religious Coping Scale were used as data collection tools in the study. The research data were analyzed in a computer environment using SPSS 25 package program. In the study, the participants' post-traumatic stress symptoms, post-traumatic growth and religious coping levels were evaluated based on the variables of gender, age, marital status, education level, having a child, number of children, employment status, having a chronic disease, receiving psychiatric / psychological (medication, psychotherapy, etc.) treatment and being negatively affected by the events experienced. In the study, it was determined that there were significant differences between the variables of gender, age, marital status, education level, having a child, number of children, employment status, having a chronic disease, receiving psychiatric/psychological treatment and being negatively affected by the events experienced and the levels of post-traumatic stress symptoms, post-traumatic growth and religious coping. In the study, it was also concluded that there was a positive and low-level relationship between post-traumatic stress symptoms, post-traumatic growth, positive religious coping and negative religious coping.
