The changes of antioxidant parameters in the cattle with tuberculosis

Abstract (EN)

The study was conducted to detect the changes of antioxidan parameters in cattle with tuberculosis. The study was conducted on 30 cattle consist of 15 cattle with tuberculosis and 15 healthy cattle. Intradermal PPD mamalian tuberculin test was used for diagnosis of tuberculosis. Positive blood samples used in the study of a single tuberculin application 72 hours after the skin thickness is 4 mm thick with animals, the control group, blood samples forming the skin thickness is comprised of samples from animals of not more than 2 mm. Blood samples were taken from the jugular vein of both tuberculosis and control animals, centrifuged at 3000 rpm for 5 minutes, after taking the samples in the epandorf tubes was frozen at -20oC and as soon as the analysis has been done. Lipid peroxidation (MDA), GSH-Px, GSH, and catalase were determined to Placer, Lawrence, Sedlak and Goth, respectivelly. Vitamin E and vitamin A levels were determined by HPLC unit using commercially available test kits. The vitamin C levels were determined colorimetrically. Although the significant differences were determined in malondialdehide (MDA), glutathion peroxidase (GSH-Px), glutatione (GSH), vitamin E and vitamin C levels between groups, the significantly changes wasn't determined in the catalase and vitamin A levels. In conclusion, an important changes was determined in the lipid peroxidation and antioxidan parameters in the cattle with tuberculosis.
