Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the job satisfaction and burnout levels of scuba diving instructors according to various variables and to determine the level of relationship between them. The universe of the research consists of diving professionals who are instructors in the diving centers located in 3 different regions of our country. These 3 regions (Marmara-Istanbul, Mediterranean-Antalya, Aegean-Fethiye) are the regions with the most diving training and the most diving spots in Turkey. The sample of the research consists of 162 (nwomen=48, nmen=114) individuals who own or teach at diving schools in these regions and participate voluntarily in the study. As data collection tools in the research, "Burnout Scale Short Form (Tö-Kf)" developed by Pnes (2005) and adapted by Capri (2013) and "Job Satisfaction Scale (ITÖ)" developed by Brayfield and Rothe (1951) and adapted by Keser and Bilir" have been used. The collected data were analyzed in the SPSS. Independent variable t-test was used for pairwise comparisons, and multiple variance analysis was used for comparisons with three or more variables. As a result, while there was no statistical significance according to gender, education and marital status among the variables were questioned in the study, statistical differences were found in job satisfaction and burnout levels according to status, age, experience, region of work, working style and income variables. No significant relationship was found between job satisfaction and burnout. By considering the results of the study, it is recommended to strengthen the researches with qualitative data, to announce the place of our country in sports tourism by the authorities and to carry out public relations studies for its development.
