To reduce these disadvantages, air-assisted system was adapted to a spinning disc nozzle and prototype air assistedspinning disc nozzle was produced. The trials were carried out in laboratoryconditions at different wind velocity (1.5, 2.5 and 3.5 ms-1), air assisted (10, 15 and25 ms-1), application rate (20 and 40 lha-1) and droplet diameters (85 and 210 µm).Moreover, Turbofan nozzle, which is an example model, was examined in laboratoryand field trials. Laboratory studies were carried out in wind tunnel. To determineefficiency of methods used in this experiment, BSF solution was sprayed instead ofpesticide and artificial plants were used as plant. The amounts of BSF on foliar anddrift were determined by fluorometric method. For both nozzles, spray patterndisplacements were determined by using a spray patternator in wind tunnel.In laboratory condition, air-assisted spinning disc nozzle increased spraydeposition in windy condition. Furthermore, the highest spray deposition wasobtained at droplet diameter of 85 µm and application rate of 20 lha-1. Whenspinning disc nozzle was operated at 25 ms-1 air-assisted, drift was partiallycontrolled in 3.5 ms-1 wind velocity. The lowest spray pattern displacement of air-assisted spinning disc nozzle and Turbofan nozzle was obtained at 25 ms-1 air-assisted.
