Expression of existential loneliness in Turgut Uyar's poetry

Turgut Uyar who is one of the productive poets of the poetry movement called İkinci Yeni (The Second New) in the Republic Period Turkish Literature tells the expression of the existential loneliness mostly focusing on relationships and an object in his poems. However, the poet not only tells about lonelsiness but also thinks about it. Loneliness was on the focus of our study because of its being an existential phenomenon all by itself. Focusing on Soren Kierkegard, Martin Heidegger Jean Paul Sartre and Albert Camus who are the important philosophers of the existential philosophy intellectual readings were made and loneliness was tried to be enlightened. Through Uyar's poems, which consist different levels of loneliness, loneliness, thrownness and fall, absurd, anxiety, shame, conscience and death were discussed. Turgut Uyar's all poems are collected in his book Büyük Saat (The Large Clock) which consists of only poems. An innovation was aimed to be brought into the literature history by reading Uyar's poetry focusing on philosophy.
