The research about the usage of the color symbols and the miniature effect on Turgut Zaim's paints.

The objective of this thesis; is to study color symbols usage and miniature effects, and then make a critical evaluation on the paints of Turgut Zaim, who was among the genuine Contemporary Turkish painters. It is tried to evaluate the effects of the culturel and political perception in the early republican period of Turkey, on Turgut Zaim's artworks for better understanding originalities of the painting works to be analyzed. Colors have been the expression of the symbolic thoughts and meaning from the different geographies and cultures during the history. In this concept, Carl Gustav Jung has caled hereditary tendencies originating in collective unconsciousness as archetypes. In this parralesim, art makes the different cultures world-wide by getting their local and national properties and also makes a significant contribution the existence of collective consciousness and archetypes. By looking at these approaches, it is possible to understand the reflexion of collective consciousness and the formation of the contemporary Turkish artworks on the paints of Turgut Zaim. While analysing the work, the topics like color psychology, color chemistry, color plastic value have been involved in this study. By the help of technical researches on the selected samples of the painter's artwork, the effect of the miniature coming from archetypes an the usage of the color symbols, the analyses of information have been evaluated through the critical aspects in the light of social and culturel sources. The artist's authentic interpretation of local and traditional motifs will create a reference for further studies.
