Master's thesis performance analysis of the transportation system in tourism logistics: A research study on tourists coming from the Russian Federation to the republic of Turkey

This study entitled ?Performance Analysis of the Transportation System in Tourism Logistics: A Research Study on Tourists coming from the Russian Federation to the Republic of Turkey? purposes to analyze the performance of transportation system in tourism logistics and, thereby, to determine consumer?s problem encountered during transportation. This study examines the development of tourism between Turkey and Russia in the last years and explores the researches on transport system that includes facilities of transportation of tourists from Russia to Turkey to the tourist places.The study is based on the mutli-method research. In order to analyze the performance of the transportation system in tourism logistics inquiry forms and interviews with tourists coming from Yekaterinburg to Turkey were applied. Interview was held in order to gain participants? view about transportation system in tourism logistics and some solution recommendations. Besides interview, 5 questionnaire form was performed to determine the most important for tourist criteria at every stage of transportation. The questionnaire research was based on the following criteria: security and safety, facility, reliability, courtesy, schedule, cleanliness and price.For the data analysis gained by interview with Russian tourists was applied the technique of descriptive analysis, that is analytical report of whole interview text was prepared. The data gained in the process of questionnaire research were proceeded by program SPSS 15.0.The results of the study cover consumer?s problem encountered during transportation and the findings related with the descriptive analysis.KeyWords: Tourism Logistics, Transportation System, Turkey, Russia, Tourism.
