The effect of tourism related quality of life on supporting sustainable tourism, the case of Alanya

Today, tourism activities have become activities that have a significant impact on the social and economic conditions of the regions where they take place. In addition to positive developments such as the creation of new job opportunities and increased socio-cultural exchanges, there are also critically important issues such as the protection of the environment and cultural heritage. In this respect, it is important to evaluate the relationship between the impact of tourism activities on quality of life and sustainable tourism. In this thesis study, it is aimed to evaluate the impact of tourism-related quality of life factors on sustainable tourism and the relationship between these concepts. For this purpose, in the first two parts of the research, which can be described as a literature review, concepts such as tourism, sustainable tourism, quality of life and tourism relationship were emphasized. In the application part of the research, the results of the questionnaire study were evaluated. IBM SPSS 20.0 statistical analysis program was used to analyze the data obtained from the research and Reliability Analysis (Cronbach's Alpha), Frequency Analysis, Descriptive Tests, Normality Distribution Analysis (Skewness-Kurtosis) Tests, Difference Tests (One-Way ANOVA), t-Test and Correlation Analysis were performed. According to the results obtained from the research, in which numerical data were used and the survey method was preferred from quantitative research methods, it was determined that there is a positive relationship between tourism-related quality of life and sustainable tourism activities. In addition, demographic variables such as gender, marital status, income status, education, occupation and place of residence have an impact on perceptions towards both concepts.
