The concept profiles in Turkish proverbs according to include animal names (In the sample of the dictionary named bölge ağizlarinda atasözleri ve deyimler)

In our study, the proverbs in which the names of animals are mentioned in the local dialects of Turkey Turkish have been scanned. The aims of our study are to identify the place of the animals in Turkish culture and cognitive structure by examining the proverbs in which the names of animals are mentioned in terms of the collocation, contrative co-occurance and the disjunctive items and to show the concept profiles that come out. In the introduction of our study, the information about the proverbs which are our basic materials and the situation and importance of the proverbs in the structural analysis of Turkish culture have been given subsequently the information about the subject, the purpose, the scope, the material and the method that is used. Subsequently, the necessary clarifications about the terms of the collocation, contrative co-occurance and the disjunctive items have been given. The second, third and fourth chapters constitute the main parts of our thesis. In these chapters, the proverbs in which the names of animals are mentioned in the local dialects of Turkey Turkish have been classified, the etymological knowledge about the animal names has been given and the frequency of use of the names of the animals in the proverbs which have been investigated has been identified. Subsequently, these proverbs have been examined in terms of the collocation, contrative co-occurance and the disjunctive items and they have been classified. After making a statement about the concept profiles, the determined concept profiles have been visualized by diagrams. In the assessment and the conclusion chapters, the acquired evidences have been listed. Where necessary, comments have been made by using charts and diagrams.
