Economic analysis of delivery and payment terms in Turkish foreign trade: A model suggestion about determination of training necessity.

4ABSTRACTThe concept of foreign trade is seen even as barter, since ancient times ofhistory. New contributions has been made in historical period, and continious changeshave occured until today in foreign trade theories beginning with neoclassics. In today?sforeign trade, New Foreign Trade Theories qualified as modern, have been located.As science and technology have developed, the world became smaller, thenations became closer and network of relations became digitalized. Briefly, commercialrelations have been integrated to one another in globalized world. Some nations, seekingto increase or protect their economical oppurtinities, have established some economicalunions.In today?s economies, in which custom walls have been abolished and free tradeis valid, pursuit of foreign markets have increased. Complicated transactions occuring inforeign trade relations, confidence of traders in each other, tasks and sanctions of partiesresulting from international law are important subject titles that must be known.Foreign trade is made between countries that are far away from each other andthat have lots of differences like culture, language, management etc. Delivery andpayment of goods sold as a result of foreign trade relations, and related effects have animportant place. In this study, resulting from foriegn trade, the process of expedition anddelivery of goods and payments of cost ocurring between the consumer and the vendor,in other words importer and exporter, has been analysed. Likewise; because of usagefrequency and importance in foreign trade, concept of letter of credit, it?s mechanism,problems that can occur in this area and procedures used in solutions have beendiscussed in a different section. Today, one of the most preferred methods of payment,the letter of credit, has been accepted as the most secure way in terms of both importerand exporter. The reason of this is the existence of banks who follow the transactions ofboth parties and give guarantee accordingly.In development of Turkish foreign trade, training of Turkish companies onforeign trade, making Turkish companies conscious and usage of these informationeffectively have an important place. Designating the problems for this issue andsuggesting some solutions has been taken in hand in this study.
