Analyzing the Turkish world animal tales in point of values transfer

The aim of this research is to reveal the richness of animal tales, which is one of the building blocks of the oral national culture in terms of education of values mentioned in the Turkish curriculum prepared by the Ministry of National Education. It is believed that the acquisition of values, which are the leading factors in shaping the social structure in terms of its function, to the younger generations, has a vital importance in terms of transferring the national culture to the younger generation and "being a nation". Considering the aims and qualities of this research, it is thought that the content analysis type of the document review research model, which is one of the research models, is more suitable for this study. In the universe of animal tales, which are among the folktales compiled from the Turkish world, the study, which is done in the first sample, has reached 571 idioms that repeat in 36 Turkish animal tales with various distributions. The average of idiom per tale was found to be 15.86. From the point of view of enriching the vocabulary education in mother tongue education, it is considered that these tales are a remarkable resource even with this aspect. In the tales examined in terms of the messages it carries, the message that good ones should be rewarded and bad ones should be punished was identified at the highest frequency. In the 42 Turkish world animal tales, which were examined according to the Schwartz's values scale, 180 values were detected and it was observed that the benevolence value was found at the highest frequency. When the secondary school Turkish textbooks in use are examined, 16 fairy tales are used in 8 different textbooks, 5 of these tales are free reading parts; As the listening text of 3; It was observed that 8 of them were given as reading text. It was observed that 5 of the 16 tales examined were original or adaptation tales, 3 were transfers from Beydaba, and 8 tales were translations from La Fontaine. In this context, the conclusion that the Turkish world animal tales, which are handled with their various features, are the sources that should be utilized in the Turkish education textbooks and even in the preparation of Turkish teaching materials for foreigners.
