Abstract (EN)
This doctoral dissertation named The Şehr-engîzes in Turkish Literature "Cities and Beauties" aims to examine the content and meaning world of the type of şehrengizs in a comprehensive way by going out from the existing şehrengizs written from XVI. century to the end of the XVIII. century in the classical Turkish poetry. In the study, it was tried to show how the beauties of the mentioned cities are depicted and how as well as more people who have a profession from shopkeeper are described in the şehrengizs, how the professions are performed in the context of the beauties, the use of names and nicknames and elements of social life. In our work, which is a text-based content review; elements, depended on the content in the şehrengizs as like the meaning of the concept of şehrengizs, characteristics, the determinations of the first şehrengizs in Turkish literature and other examples of şehrengizs, the beauties of the municipality which the şehrengizs is written in the name of municipality and portray the beauties of that city have been examined in all aspects. With this work, it was tried to determine how the persons (beauties) who lived in a certain section of time and whose characteristics were foregrounded, the period socio-cultural life were reflected to type of şehrengizs of the classical Turkish poetry.
