İnvestigation of turkish folk dances department students' attitudes towards music teaching profession and music teaching self-efficacy

In this study, it was aimed to determine the attitudes of Turkish folk dances department students towards the music teaching profession and their self-efficacy in music teaching, and to examine these attitudes and self-efficacy in terms of gender, age, school of study, type of high school graduated from and class variables. This research was designed with a quantitative and descriptive approach based on the survey model. The study group of the research consists of a total of 193 students, 98 female and 95 male, who are students of Turkish Folk Dances departments of 6 universities in the 2024-2025 academic year. The data were obtained by applying "Attitude Scale towards Music Teaching Profession" and "Music Teaching Self-Efficacy Scale" to the study group. Independent Samples t-Test and One Way Anova from parametric tests were used in the measurements. In line with the information obtained, it was determined that there was no significant difference in the self-efficacy scores of Turkish folk dances department students in music teaching gender, age, graduated high school type and class variables, while there was a significant difference in the attitude scores of the class variable and the school variable.
