Abstract (EN)

Ülkü Mecmuası was founded by comand of Atatiirk. It started to be published after Ankara People's House was founded. People's Houses are open for every segment of the society. Various courses were held in these houses to eduacate the society. Ülkü publis hed the monthly studies of Ankara People's House in the form of reports, Besides, Atatürk suggested to found people's houses throughout the country. He also guided newly-opened people's houses and evaluated the magazines published by them. Through these magazines, rural surveys were conducted throughut the country, Ülkü Mecmuası published the valuable surveys. As an important source of Turkish Folklore, Ülkü Mecmuası tried to educate readers by publishing folklore research methods and techniques. It was asserted that the writers of the magazine should be the people who did something for their homeland without expecting any payoff.Ülkü Mecmuası took the first steps towards the fast improvement of Turkish society. It helped to study on the formation of cultural union and started a cultural mobilization.It has the chracteristies of a unique source of Turkish Folklore. We can find the names of the magazines that belong to many people's houses about whose names we probably have not heard. We can alse find the tags of the ancles published in these magazines. The magazine involves very important information about Turkish Folklore. The important ones of the articles which had arrived from various parts of the country to Ankara People's House were published in the magazine. The volumes of Ülkü Mecmuası were constantly sent to other People's Houses. However, magazines of other people's houses did not work constatly, nor were they regularly sent to other people's houses. Many of the articles published in the Ülkü Mecmuası are composed of articles sent to other people's houses.Ülkü Mecmuası was a starting point for Turkish Folklore Studies and set an example for researchers of the field.Key Words: Atatürk,Ülkü Mecmuası, Ankara People's House, Folklore, News from People?s Houses.
