Abstract (EN)
Culture and history are two phenomena that have gone along in time. Throughout history, sometimes history had shaped culture and sometimes culture had also shaped history. The beliefs of the folk have emerged by taking a fixed from in time. As for traditions are the sub-units that make up the culture. The more nations there are on Earth, the more tradition and faith there are. Every nation has its own traditions. For this purpose, we tried to determine the traditions and beliefs in Taşova district and its surroundings. Our study is based on how the influence of traditions and beliefs are on the people living in the past in Taşova,how life is shaped by the influence of these traditions and beliefs, and analysing on which traditions and beliefs are going on today. Besides, our study have important in terms of Turkish Cultural History. In the introduction part of our study, information about the historical, geographical, economic and cultural structure of Taşova was given. In the first chapter, beliefs and traditions about birth were explained. Information about the Dervish lodges that gone and the applications made this place was given. In the second chapter, the traditions which are applied in weddings were explained and pictures about the subject were given place to. In the third chapter, beliefs and traditions about death were explained. At the end of each subject that described, a comparison was made between the past and the present. As for in the conclusion section, it made an inference by a general evaluation including all subjects was made. In addition, some suggestions have been made about how our traditions can be kept alive in terms of Turkish cultural history. Our study were visually enriched with the pictures both that describes the subjects and that given in the appendix section. İn addition, the subjects were supported by giving examples from the experienced events. We believe that this study, which we have made to unveil our forgotten traditions, will be beneficial for the Turkish Culture History.
