Özet (EN)
Epic, tale, legend, anecdote and folk stories which have the value of treasure among the narrative genres, are the carriers of the Turkish cultural tradition. The tales has, on the other hand have a special importance in the oral tradition. Tales, when analyzed symbolically, it is seen that they possess different and various meanings. They are not the texts told only for children, they reflect the realities of human soul and explore its secrets.Tales are rich in terms of symbol and image. Ghosts, monsters and dragons and spaces such as desert and cave are the revelations of the hero?s/heroine?s greed, grudge and hatred and other feelings. In our dreams, too, there are many psychological meanings in this sense. Dreams are psychic phenomena where our desires are realized. Owing to them, we can see ourselves as if we were in the mirror and learn the true aspect of our nature. For this reason, we have given a special part to the analysis of the dreams in the selected tales.Tales carry the genetic consciousness to the present and contribute to the shaping of today?s culture. The heros/heroines of tales complete their struggle for individualization in accordance with the archetype of ?Departure-Initiation-Return?. The processes today?s man undergo are similar to the ones of the heros/heroines in the tales. When we analyze the symbolic language of the tales, we find the way to the back gardens of ?our hidden personality?.The elements that Turkish people reflect in the tales are the symbolic meanings waiting to be analyzed in the human soul and the unconscious. In our study named ?A Symbolıc Analysis of Turkish Tales? we have tried to analyze the selected texts of tale in this context.
