The reflection of animal figures in Turkish mythology on Rauf Tuncer's paintings

The subject of "The Reflection of Animal Figures in Turkish Mythology on Rauf Tuncer's Paintings" is discussed in the study. The subject of the study is the analysis of the paintings of Rauf Tuncer, who stands out with his unique style and paintings in the field of Turkish mythology in the world of painting, in which he reflects animal figures. The animal-figured works of the artist, which is the subject of the study, were examined according to the general scanning model and included in the study. In this study, which was carried out using qualitative research methods and techniques, the artist's life, artist-educator personality, and his views on Turkish painting art were included with the structured artist interview form/interview technique. As a result of the literature review, within the study's theoretical framework, the concepts of Turkish mythology and mythological animal figures were included, and animal depictions in Turkish epics, legends, and stories were used. In line with the theoretical framework of the study, the paintings of the artist reflecting animal figures were analyzed descriptively, and the form, color, composition, animal motifs, Turkish symbols, sign and stamps were interpreted in the context of Turkish culture and mythology, and application studies were carried out in this context. It has been seen that the artist interprets Turkish culture and elements with his unique style and transfers them to his works in the examined paintings. As a result of the literature review carried out within the scope of the study, it is thought that this study is important in terms of bringing in and introducing the unknown works of Painter Rauf Tuncer, who has an important place with his paintings in the field of Turkish mythology, to form a source for future studies and to fill the gap in the field.
