Abstract (EN)

In Turkish Storywriting, 1950 Generation has a distinct place in point of both language and formal studies and also 1950 Generation is a climacteric in the modernizing of our storywriting. Storywriters who had began to publish their stories in these years, had become representatives of a new understanding thereby blending their own literature with the philosophy and literature of western that they had been interested in. Because of existentialism, in the stories it has been seen that freedom, estrangement, loneliness and death themes had been mostly treated. In this thesis, the effect of existentialism to the 1950 generation has been researched and this effect has been tried to show with the quoted passages from the stories. In addition, basic features and understanding of existentialism has been explained to have a better understanding of existentialism.
