Abstract (EN)

The Turkish Cypriots are a community that has been tortured, suffered forced migrations and struggled for national existence throughout history. The unfortunate events experienced by the Turkish Cypriots and their struggle for their national existence have resulted in great destruction. Turkish Cypriots continued their struggle for independence against Greek Cypriot terrorist organizations until the July 20, 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation and the conflict between these two communities was reflected in literature. In this study, the reflection of the social political events in Cyprus on the Turkish novel constitutes the main problem area of the study. In the novels examined, it was determined that the Turkish Cypriots were marginalized by the Greeks through Christianization and Greekization policies by destroying both their religious belief and national identity. In this context, the emergence of the Cyprus problem and the reflections of its consequences for the Turkish Cypriots in the novels were investigated. In these works, the tortures, restrictions, forced migrations, material and moral pressures and the struggle for existence experienced by the Turkish Cypriots were discussed in all aspects. This study is based on the data obtained by qualitative method. At this point, document analysis technique, which is one of the qualitative and analysis collection techniques, was used in the research. Written materials containing information about the data targeted to be obtained throughout the study were analyzed and examined with a descriptive method. As a result, the reflections of the situations such as torture, exile and restrictions that the Turkish Cypriots have been exposed to in the historical process on the Turkish novel have been analyzed.
