The battles of Çanakkale in Turkish novel

The battles of Çanakkale has a very important place in Turkish History as it is a turning point in the history of modern Turkey. The battles of Çanakkale, in which lots of Turkish soldiers were Martyred, is dealt with as an independent subject in Turkish novels. In the study conducted in the context of the relationship between literature, history and war literature, twenty novels about the battles of Çanakkale were discussed with different titles within the framework of the subject. The purpose of the study is to reveal the importance of the battles of Çanakkale in terms of Turkish literature. In this framework, as the history of the battles of Çanakkale is mentioned, theoretical works have also been examined to deal with the subject in the context of the relationship between literature-history and war literature.
