Micro approach to the Turkish defense industry: An inventory and periodization study in defense industry enterprises (1836-2018)

This study focus on the examination of the Turkish Defense Industry at the level of micro approach in the framework of business history discipline between 1836-2016. Qualitative method was used in the study and secondary data were used. In the introductory part of the five-part study, information about the operating date is given and a micro and macro approach is taken. Later on, the purpose, the scope and the importance of the work are discussed, and finally the general information about the defense industry is explained. In the second chapter, information on the defense industry establishments, which existed since 1836 and which was established until 2018, was given within the scope of the study. In the third chapter, explanations have been made about the method of working. In the fourth chapter, a periodization is made within the scope of the study and explained together with the reasons. In the fifth chapter, it is discussed whether there is change and transformation in the direction of the findings of the Turkish Defense Industry.
