Abstract (EN)
The new product development process is a strategic area for the country, especially in the defense industry, and requires a multidimensional evaluation as it includes critical factors such as innovation, market fit, cost, quality and risk. This study aims to identify the main criteria affecting the new product development processes in the Turkish defense industry and to analyze the importance of these criteria with the TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) method. The data to be used in the research will be collected from experts involved in product development processes in the defense industry through questionnaires and interviews. Then, TOPSIS method, one of the multi-criteria decision-making techniques, will be applied to analyze the criteria that are effective in the new product development process. Within the scope of the study, necessary statistical analyses will be conducted to ensure the accuracy of the participant evaluations and the results will be reported objectively. The most appropriate strategic approaches will be determined by examining the effects of the factors discussed in the study on new product development processes in the Turkish defense industry. The results of these analyses will reveal the necessary steps to increase the competitiveness of companies operating in the sector at national and international level by increasing their new product development potential. The findings obtained will have an impact on more effective handling of criteria in new product development processes and strategic decisions in the sector.
