Abstract (EN)
The content of the programs produced on television is shaped according to the audience it addresses, and the story of this audience is created based on the realities in their lives. In the series about family stories, children, the youngest member of the family, are also used as impressive characters. The inclusion of child characters in Turkish television series on family, and the increase in the visibility of child characters, especially with star child actors, raises the question of how the concept of 'child' is represented in the series. This question is important because television series appeal to a wider audience, especially to the general audience as well as to children. Therefore, the representation of childhood in Turkey and how the image of child is reflected in television series is the subject of this thesis. Within the framework of this subject; three TV series published between 2015-2020 and four child characters in these series were taken as samples. Based on the sample; it is aimed to reveal which child images the television series use and how they represent childhood. In accordance with this purpose; answers were sought to the questions of which child images and how childhood. While conducting the research, descriptive analysis method, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. Since the child characters in the TV series chosen as samples will be examined in many ways, the codes, categories and themes reached were interpreted with descriptive analysis.
