Understanding problems experienced in their skills and suggestions for solutions in the distance learning of Turkish as a foreign language

In this study, it is aimed to identify the problems experienced in the comprehension skills of foreigners in the distance learning of Turkish and to present solutions by evaluating these problems.During the COVID-19 epidemic, which has affected the whole world and is still ongoing with various variants, a distance learning process has also been started to teach Turkish to foreigners.During this process, the problems experienced in the distance education process were identified and evaluated through the eyes of the teachers and solutions were offered.In addition to the European language criteria, the opinions of institutions and teachers who teach Turkish to foreigners remotely were applied in the research.In accordance with these opinions, the problems arising from the tutorial, the problems arising from the student, the problems arising from information systems, the problems arising from the Internet, the problems arising from sources and books have been divided into headings under the main headings.The problems have been identified, analyzed and statistics have been extracted and these statistics have been supported with tables and images.The study was constructed according to the phenomenology (phenomenology) pattern, which is one of the qualitative research methods.The universe of the study is composed of tutorials that work at home and abroad in the distance learning of Turkish to foreigners. The sample consists of sixty teachers who are actively teaching Turkish to foreigners from distance.A semi-structured interview form was used as a data collection tool.The data obtained in the study were analyzed by using the content analysis technique.While at the beginning of identified problems are caused by the internet and information system, followed by student-related problems, environmental problems, lack of resources and materials, evaluation problems and health problems. In the study, based on instructive views, suggestions for solutions to these identified problems were made.
