Abstract (EN)
This thesis adresses the relations between Turkey and Saudi Arabia from the late 19th century to today. It examines the issue under three historical period: First one begins with the late 19th century -when Saudi Kingdom was established- and continues until 1980, year of the September 12 military coup. Second one begins with the year 1980, and examines the relations between two countries until 2002, when Justice and Development Party came into power. Third one begins with 2002 and analyzes Turkish-Saudi relations until 2015. Main argument of the thesis is that the main parameter which shapes the relations between Turkey and Saudi Arabia is the course of relations between Turkey and the Arab world.
